Janis Henderson
- Chairman of the Board
Janis
has her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Art. Before marrying
Greg Hunsucker in 2005, she lived in four different states (AZ, NY,
MD & NC) and one foreign country (Wales). When she is not taking
care of her baby, Samantha, or teaching art at Hill Arts Magnet, she
is doing website design.
John Hartman
- Secretary
John
is a native of Charleston, WV, and graduated from Davidson College with
a religion degree. He farms and cuts timber, and is a GED instructor
at Forsyth Tech. He lives in Danbury with his wife Kay Richie and son
Emmanuel.
Sherry Stewart - Treasurer
Sherry lives
in Walnut Cove, NC. She has two sons in college. Drew is at Appalachian
State University and Lee is at Randolph-Macon College. Both Sherry and
her husband are both CPAs. They work together at Henderson, Stewart
& Company, CPAs in Winston-Salem. They are active members of Friendship
Baptist Church, where she teaches children’s Sunday School and
volunteers in the church library. Sherry is a lifelong avid reader.
Betty Smith
Betty
graduated from Appalachian State Teachers College, now Appalachian State
University, and was a school librarian for several years in Forsyth
County Schools; she now is the Branch Librarian at Walnut Cove Public
Library. She has two children, ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
Charlotte
Offerdahl
Charlotte Offerdahl claims to be the luckiest woman alive. She is a
partner with a law firm in Charlotte but gets to do almost all of her
work from her home in Stokes County. In addition to practicing law,
Charlotte enjoys fibers arts and reading, and she and her husband Grady
Burgin garden, hike and kayak together.
Sarah Werner
Mrs.
Werner is a first-generation American born in Brooklyn, NY.
She attended SUNY at Buffalo and taught English, Math, &
Science at South Stokes High School for many years. Mrs. Werner received
her Master's in Library Information Services from UNCG in 2003. Currently
she is the librarian at Reagan High School.
